In this book, readers will meet Sprucie, a young tree eager to learn many things, especially shouting. He is unhappy because all he could do is just whisper and soon, all the little animals gather around him wondering why he is unhappy. When he learns to shout one night, he keeps the little animals awake all night. As a result, he couldn't watch them play all day as they are all so tired. He soon realizes that he is meant to sigh and help animals relax so they could sleep at night under his bows.
